"A branch of CPA existed in Northants in the very early days of the Association, however it is not known how long it continued. In 1924 CPA stalwart John Williamson was appointed Chief Constable of Northampton, this led to the reformation of the Branch in 1936. John served as our Chief Constable until 1955 and was fully committed to CPA both locally and nationally. He retained this involvement throughout his retirement. In the early 1970s the Branch became dormant, but it was reformed in 1984 under my predecessor David Hoddle and has remained active since this time with membership continuing to rise.
In 2003 our local CPA Branch was recognised as a Staff Support Group within the Force and invited us to sit on a committee that makes recommendations to Staff Associations.
We aim to provide support, prayer and fellowship for our members and welcome new applications for membership from Officers, Support Staff and especially new recruits.
Let your light Shine... Matthew 5: 16"

Some of the Northants CPA Branch Members set up a charity called Crime to Christ, a crime reduction strategy, providing pastoral and practical help to people who wish to turn away from crime. A magazine entitled, "Someone Like Me", is placed into the Police custody cells, which gives true stories about people whose lives have been changed by their faith in Jesus. The magazine gives advice to readers who decide to make that same choice themselves. It also gives contact details so they can talk to a Crime to Christ volunteer for more help or advice. This support is available to anyone who requests it, regardless of their faith or lack of faith.
